Residential Dog Training

A boarding school for dogs and puppies

At The Fairy Tails we offer intensive dog training in the form of a training boot camp, where your dog boards and trains with us for assured results.

We assist busy dog-owning families in the UK in transitioning from stressful walks to joyful and calm strolls that you can be proud of for your dog. We eliminate the stress associated with training by expediting it for you, giving your dog the greatest possible start, and then giving you a simple training schedule so you can spend more time with your dog and feel comfortable taking it wherever you go.

Why choose The Fairy Tails?

A positive environment

Our residential dog training programmes are great since your dog lives with us in our house and at our daycare while undergoing daily training. We offer a totally customised training routine for your dog that can greatly impact their behaviour in as little as three to four weeks.

It's difficult to choose whom to entrust with your cherished family dog. By employing positive training techniques, our team of knowledgeable trainers provide a loving, safe, secure, and positive environment for your dog.

We do the hard work!

The key to dog training is consistency, regularity, and a controlled and supervised environment which sometimes be difficult for busy families.

If your busy schedule does not allow for training; if you have been unable to solve the dog’s issues in the past; if other trainers have failed, or if you simply don’t want to do it, then this is your dog training programme.

All breeds of dogs are accepted, and we offer training for pups as young as twelve weeks old, as long as they have had their second set of vaccinations. There is never a wrong time!

Your dog stays with us

Once your dog has arrived with us, they will be evaluated and given time to adjust to their new surroundings. There will be no kennels at our house, but dogs will be crate trained as part of the training, and all dogs participating in residential training will live here with us.

Your dog becomes our pet for a period of time determined by the trainer and you, based on the dog’s issues, and your wishes for its training. We make it that easy! Our clients come from all over the UK and trust us with their fur children. Simply put, this is the easiest and most assured training programme for our clients.

Is it suitable for all dogs?

Almost!

Puppies

Puppies between twelve and sixteen weeks old can do less than eight weeks as they are easier to train due to being a blank canvas for learning. A four week course is plenty to set great foundation

Adult dogs

Dogs older than sixteen weeks must do the full eight-week course, with one week's break. We are unable to train in less than eight weeks due to latent inhibition. We only use positive training and do not use aversive tools.

Rescue Dogs

Due to complex history and often ingrained behaviour patterns for survival and defense, boarding training is only suitable in limited cases. Please call us to confirm.

Our Limitations!

We cannot change your dog's character

When it comes to learning, dogs are similar to human children. Although we can teach anxious dogs numerous coping skills and resilience techniques, they will always be naturally reserved or shy. The fundamental character of a dog cannot be altered, just as it is impossible to change the fundamental character of a human in the short term. In other words, it is impossible to transform a frightened dog into a joyful, lively dog in just eight weeks, as that would be an unrealistic promise for us to make. However, we can help with many common dog behavioural issues as shown below!

Issues we routinely deal with

Listed below are just some of the doggy behavioural issues that we deal with on a day to day basis.

  • Pulling on the lead
  • Toilet training

  • Reactivity
  • Barking at the door
  • General or trigger based anxiety
  • Excessive play biting
  • Growling or biting
